Chinese Whisperings welcomes the second of our new writers, Chris Chartrand, to what was dubbed recently ‘The CW Family.’ Chris is the second writer in The Yang Book.

When Chris told his senior English teacher he would like write for a living she responded with a deep, soul crushing, belly laugh.

Many years and several careers later he’s finally found the courage to start writing again. This time he’s going to stick with it. And sticking with it he is, with his story Hello Jones selected for inclusion in the upcoming Best of #Friday Flash.

When asked why he accepted the invitation to be part of Chinese Whisperings, he had this to say:

The concept of the Red Book was so fresh I couldn’t wait to see how they were going to pull it off. After I read it (in two sittings) I was so impressed with the execution of the anthology and how cleanly the concept came through.

This is my first time writing collaboratively. I’m looking forward to the challenge of writing within the confines of a bigger picture.

And what does Chris think he will enjoy about  Chinese Whisperings and what trepidations does he have?

The answer to both questions is the same.

Working with a real editor. (No I’m not kissing up, honest.)

I know what I want to say, but sometimes being too close, it’s hard to cull the weak. I know Jodi won’t have a problem with telling me straight up.

Read Chris’ full bio and enjoy more of his writing at The Dark Eagle.

Tomorrow, welcome back to the stage, Tina Hunter.
