Claudia is an only child, wife, and mother who loves caramel apples, hates snakes, stands for social justice, sits at the feet of her Muse, accepts the fact that she’s getting older, denies the idea that her best years are behind her, reads voraciously, writes passionately, sings only when no one’s listening, and admits that she wrote her very first novel in a closet ~ both literally and figuratively speaking.

Having been most influenced by authors such as Dr. Seuss, Neil Gaiman, Sally Gardner, C.S. Lewis, Charles Dickens, and Markus Zusak, Claudia’s writing has mainly become focused on combining some of the magical elements of fantasy with real-life protagonists. As she believes there is more to this world than the eye can see, she has a tendency to place her characters in precisely the spot she wishes she could be: with both feet on the boundaries of the unseen. And then she watches and listens to see how they fare.
