Born in the early seventies, Dan Powell grew up reading Marvel Comics. As a result he spent a large part of his childhood wanting to be Spider-man.
Once he was old enough to realise this wasn’t a viable career path, his goal changed to that of becoming a comic book writer. He spent his university years writing small press comics and submitting scripts to 2000AD, which accounts for his 2:2 in Literature and History.
He spent nearly ten years teaching English in secondary schools in the UK before handing in his notice to become full-time dad to his two young sons. He (almost exclusively) writes fiction of all shapes and sizes and is currently working his way through an Open University Creative Writing course. The plan is to try and land a place on a distance learning Creative Writing MA, but with baby three on the way all bets are off as to when that might happen.
Originally from the West Midlands (UK) Dan calls Gütersloh, Germany home these days.
