Lily Mulholland is stuck in Canberra until the day the universe aligns and she is magically transported (NB Australians are used to this) to the fair apple isle of Tasmania. Her dream home is in Blackmans Bay, overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, with huge picture windows above her writing desk, from which will issue forth not only the quintessential Australian novel, but a few of them, dammit.

Lily is a bit of a daydreamer (not that you can tell…much), although she prefers to think of herself as a forward planner. She has the whole five-year thing done and dusted, although, strangely, that five-year window just keeps on drifting out. Until she becomes a famous Australian writer, she’s cutting her teeth on short fiction in a whole bunch of genres, but only when the day-to-day demands of small children, busy day job and a higher research degree being undertaken part-time don’t sap her will to live.
